The Blue Tick Accreditation Programme ensures that providers of water meter verification services have been independently tested and assessed as competent. A water meter verification is a snapshot of the meter’s performance during a normal irrigation or water use event. During verification, a calibrated verification meter is temporarily fitted to your existing pipework, allowing us to compare flow rates and confirm the installed meter is operating within the required accuracy standards. Water meters require verification every five years to ensure they are accurately recording the flow passing through the system.

Verification data is submitted to the relevant regional council as part of your water take consent obligations. Only companies that meet these rigorous standards achieve accreditation and are recommended by regional councils to carry out verification work under the Resource Management (Measurement and Reporting of Water Takes) Regulations 2010.
