Kerryn Simpson

Basically born into the industry with parents Rick and Lynley owning Bay Milking Equipment Ltd, Kerryn grew up helping out, and at 19 started working for Bay Milking Equipment Ltd as an office junior, as the pool and spa side of the business grew Kerryn's role moved more into managing the pool and spa shop, "the original BME pool girl", Kerryn spent 8 1/2 years with Bay Milking before moving out of the area to expand her knowledge in the industry. After 2 years with Davey water products, and 5.5 with Thames farm where she took on the role of store manager, Dan and Kerryn decided to head back to Whakatane to be closer to family, and with the offer of buying shares in a company, it seemed their dream of owning their own business was now closer, Almost 2 years later and Absolute Dairy & Water Ltd was born. Kerryn's 16 + years in the industry sets her apart from most "office Ladies' giving her a vast knowledge of all brands of milking machines, pumps, water treatment, pools and spas, she can help you with most queries, while you can find Kerryn mostly in the office, she also loves to get out in the field and help Dan and Aidan when she's needed.

Rick Finucane

Rick was born in Whakatane, so couldn't be anymore local. An Auto Electrician by trade having gained this qualification while at Ross Morgan Ltd and enjoyed many years in the industry. Rick's natural ability to fix anything mechanical, meant while he was working for W.J.Dippie Ltd in 1990 and was offered the opportunity to buy their milking machine division, he jumped at it. After changing the name to Bay Milking Equipment Ltd, Rick and Lynley grew the business and it was moved to a premises they own at 7 Gateway West. Through hard work, a passion for the job at hand and customer satisfaction, Bay Milking flourished, offering all things milking and water, and then expanding into pool and spa installation and supply with all chemicals and accessories included. Rick was able to use all of his skills and adapt the type of work required, from electrical, plumbing, design and repair of almost anything while overseeing his team and helping them grow in their jobs. After 26 years of owning and operating the business, it was time to take a few years off to embrace the other things he loved, taking time to travel and compete in the Targa Rally. When covid hit, motorsport events were cancelled, travel no longer possible and not being one to be content doing very little, Rick picked up part time work for an engineering company doing shut work in Kawerau & Tokoroa mills. Rick's passion for the milking machine industry has remained, which meant when approached by daughter Kerryn, son in law Dan and Aidan about creating a new business, he was keen to invest and assist wherever possible. Rick continues to do the shut work for the mills, while assisting & advising Dan, Kerryn & Aidan wherever required.

Lynley Bedingham

Lynley was born in Whangaparaoa, north of Auckland moved to the Bay of Plenty at a young age when her parents decided to go dairy farming in Awakaponga then later in Station road. Her career began in customer service and included 9 years in the insurance industry. While raising 3 girls, Bay Milking Equipment became the next step with Rick to grow the business. Lynley's role included ordering, marketing, administration, accounting, HR and many other jobs that needed doing, but as the team grew certain aspects were able to be passed on or shared. Blessed with a great team meant Lynley was able to concentrate more on the management of the business. After the sale of the business, enjoying some travel and time out, Lynley was missing the customer interaction that had been a huge joy during Bay Milking days. It was time to re-evaluate and she picked up a part time job at the hospital, which she thoroughly enjoys. Now between shifts at the hospital & enjoying time with grandchildren, she is helping Kerryn with office-based work and marketing. Happily supporting, Kerryn, Dan & Aidan wherever she can.
